Leftists Riot in Minneapolis As Democrats Call Self-defense Shooting “Murder”

It appears that the law-abiding residents of Minneapolis should brace themselves for George Floyd 2.0.

Or so leftists in the streets and their Democratic masters hope.

The city wracked by violence after the Floyd Hoax in 2020 now appears on the verge of another eruption. This time, the hoax unspooled from an enforcement action by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, during which an ICE agent shot and killed a “legal observer.”

Democrats are falsely calling the fatal shooting a murder, and rioters have responded in kind, marching in the streets, burning flags and attacking a city courthouse. Worse still, far-left Democratic Governor Tim Walz claimed he is “at war” with the federal government.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Star Tribune identified the agent who shot Renee Nicole Good.

Shooting and Reaction

Tensions in the blue city began after ICE deployed 2,000 agents there, not only to arrest illegal-alien rapists and killers, but also to track down Somali day care and welfare fraudsters.

Videos of the attempted murder from several angles expose the truth. At about 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, an ICE agent approached the driver-side door of Good’s Honda Pilot and attempted to open it, as another stepped in front of it. Trying to escape an apparent arrest, Good accelerated toward the agent in front of her SUV. He shot and killed her.

Immediately, hysterical top Democrats attacked ICE, as DHS Secretary Kristi Noem called the woman’s attack on the agent “domestic terrorism.”

Known for saying that President Donald Trump must be “eliminated,” Representative Daniel Goldman of New York falsely claimed the agent is guilty of murder.

ICE is “invading our cities, using excessive force lawlessly with new agents without proper training,” he said:

And sadly, this was not unexpected. But it is egregious. It was an outright murder, and the fact that the administration is trying to defend the ICE officer when everyone can see with their own eyes that that car was trying to get away, because it still turned away from the officer after she was shot in the head. So the fact that they are arguing that somehow this is domestic terrorism, much less of an attack on ICE is preposterous. This officer not only needs to be fired and suspended, but based on the video, he needs to be charged with murder.

“At the end of the day what we saw today is a murder and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted,” said Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also of New York.

And Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland called the self-defense shooting a killing in “cold blood.”

Video clearly shows that Good struck the officer.

George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley, responding to Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), explained that “legal observers” don’t do what Good did.

“Legal observers are trained not to participate in protests,” Turley said:

The focus is observation, not obstruction. We have strikingly different accounts of her actions. Rather than wait for the investigation, Democratic leaders are again falling over each other to spur the mob.

Walz Declares War, Riots Begin, Agent Doxed

Walz, who watched Minneapolis burn during the Floyd Hoax riots, twice claimed the state was at war with the federal government, and strongly suggested National Guardsmen will fight ICE agents.

“I don’t think any governor in history has had to fight a war against the federal government,” he said, apparently forgetting the War Between the States.

“We’ve never been at war with our federal government,” Walz also said.

He also threatened to use National Guardsmen against “rogue” ICE agents:

My primary responsibility as governor is the protection of the people of Minnesota, and you can be assured whether it’s the State Patrol, or whether it’s the National Guard, their deployment is there to protect Minnesotans from whatever it is — if it’s an act of nature, if it’s a global pandemic, or in this case, if it is a rogue federal agent.

Late yesterday, the rioting began. Video shows far-left rioters marching, burning flags, attacking federal agents and Minneapolis police, and attempting to break into a federal courthouse.

Such has been the anti-cop hate from Democrats that the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association denounced the “irresponsible, reckless rhetoric from political leaders.”

The Star Tribune identified the agent who shot the woman. But at least the newspaper reported that the agent justifiably feared for his life.

“On June 17, 2025, [Jonathan] Ross was participating in an arrest of Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, a Mexican citizen, in Bloomington,” the newspaper explained:

Munoz had previously been convicted of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and had been put on a detainer by immigration officials. Munoz ignored the agents’ commands, including to fully roll down his car window, so Ross broke open his rear window and reached inside to unlock the door.

Munoz put the vehicle in drive and accelerated onto the curb, the charges said. Ross was dragged alongside the vehicle and twice fired his Taser as Munoz weaved back and forth “in an apparent attempt to shake” him from the car. About 300 feet down the road, Munoz re-entered the street and the force knocked the officer from the car.

The agent required 20 stitches for a deep cut in his right arm and another 13 stitches in his left hand, according to court documents. A jury convicted Munoz of assaulting a federal officer in December.

If local prosecutors go after Ross, he might well be railroaded into jail with a show trial similar to that used against police officer Derek Chauvin. The Minneapolis cop was falsely convicted of “murdering” career criminal and drug addict George Floyd, who died of a drug overdose.

After video of Floyd’s death went viral, leftists nearly destroyed the city, which has not recovered from $500 million in damage.
