Bodycam footage shared by Fox News captured a Richland Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy dressed head-to-toe as the green Christmas villain, stepping into the intersection on December 23, 2025 — not to steal Christmas, but to save it.

With exaggerated gestures and playful swagger, the Grinch took command of traffic, waving cars through and turning frustration into laughter as Christmas Eve congestion melted away.

The sheriff’s office said the Grinch was spotted in the morning “with plans to cause maximum traffic chaos,” but deputies advised no funny business would be tolerated and gave him two options: help traffic flow smoothly or “enjoy a complimentary, all-expenses-paid ride to jail.”

“After some serious side-eye, a little grumbling, and one dramatic huff… the Grinch chose to cooperate. And honestly? He crushed it. Cones placed perfectly. Flashlight directing like a pro. Traffic moving smoother than Christmas music in December. So smooth, in fact, he was offered a full-time position. He declined,” it said.

Fox News sweetened the moment with a tongue-in-cheek caption like: “Grinch can’t steal Christmas, so he takes control of traffic.”

What could’ve been just another routine traffic detail quickly became festive viral gold. Within hours, the clip racked up more than 23,000 views, spreading holiday cheer one green-gloved wave at a time.
