ESPN firebrand Stephen A. Smith stunned viewers Monday night, ripping into Democrats on Fox News’ Hannity and warning the party is being hijacked by its socialist fringe.

With Democrats in freefall since the 2024 elections — hemorrhaging voters, approval ratings cratering, and no clear leader in sight — Stephen A. said the problem is obvious: radicals like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders are dragging the party straight off a cliff.

“How many times have I been on this show and said the party needs to be purged?” Stephen A. thundered. “Chuck Schumer? Washed up. AOC? Too much damn cachet. Jasmine Crockett? All over the soundbites. And now Bernie Sanders is out here hyping up a socialist mayoral nominee in New York City? That’s not going to win you a general election. Maybe California. Maybe New York City. But the vast majority of Americans ain’t going to flow with that.”

The numbers back him up. According to the New York Times, Democrats have lost more than 2.1 million voters across 30 states since 2020. Republicans, meanwhile, have surged ahead, adding 2.4 million new voters and widening their edge going into 2026.

Stephen A. warned that average Americans are sick of the left’s obsession with open borders, defunding the police, and weak-on-crime policies. “We know we’re going to dial 911 when there’s trouble. We know crime needs to be addressed. We know we need strong borders and national security,” Stephen A. said.

“This party has been taken over by the extreme left. And people need to stand up and say, ‘To hell with that. Hell no, we’re not going down like that!’”

The message was unmistakable: unless Democrats ditch their socialist wing, they’ll keep bleeding voters — while Republicans keep building a majority coalition grounded in law, order, security, and sanity.
