New Mexico Schools Caught Enabling Abortions for Teen Girls

Undercover videos released this week expose school-based health clinics in New Mexico enabling underage students to access abortion referrals and transgender services—often without parental knowledge or consent. Also, two pro-life events this weekend: the Southwest March for Life and Pro-Life Community Baby Shower–read more below!

The videos, obtained by Townhall Media and published on March 11, 2026, show clinic workers at schools including Highland High School in Albuquerque and Centennial High School in Las Cruces discussing how they handle these highly controversial issues. In one instance, a worker at Highland High School stated, “I could call her out of class,” referring to a student seeking an elective abortion. They explained that the clinic can pull students from class, provide private assessments in a back room, and refer them for outpatient abortions.

A worker identified as Melissa confirmed that the school clinic can refer students for additional outpatient services. These taxpayer-funded in-house clinics—operating in dozens of New Mexico public schools and shielded under abortion up-to-birth legislation—align with the very concerns New Mexico Alliance for Life raised when we first sounded the alarm on “school based clinics” issuing birth control, STD testing and other services without ANY parental involvement. Read more here.

These issues came to the forefront again in 2023 when we fought HB 7, the Reproductive and Gender-Affirming Health Care Act. This law not only promotes unregulated elective abortion up-to-birth and transgender procedures but empowers and mandates state employees and publicly funded entities to facilitate or refer for such requests.

If you work in a school or state institution and have witnessed similar concerns– we want to hear from you! Respond to this email or contact us confidentially here.

These revelations confirm what we warned about: so-called school-based health clinics promote sexual activity, distribute various birth control methods, and—since the passage of HB 7—facilitate abortion referrals and transgender activism, all while bypassing parents.

Stay tuned for more updates, additional video details, and actionable steps you can take to protect children and parental rights.
