Minneapolis is getting the full federal treatment.
The Department of Homeland Security announced Monday that more than 10,000 illegal immigrants have been arrested in Minneapolis since the start of the second Trump administration — with 3,000 cuffed in the last six weeks alone.
“PEACE AND PUBLIC SAFETY IN MINNEAPOLIS!” Noem shared on X.

Noem claimed those arrested “were killing Americans, hurting children and reigning terror in Minneapolis” — and put the blame squarely on Minnesota’s top Democrats. She accused Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey of refusing to protect residents “and instead protect criminals.”
And the enforcement surge has been massive.
Starting just after Thanksgiving, DHS launched what it has touted as the largest immigration enforcement operation in Minneapolis history, deploying around 3,000 agents across multiple agencies — including ICE, Customs and Border Protection, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Noem called the six-week tally a major public safety win: “In the last 6 weeks, our brave DHS law enforcement have arrested 3,000 criminal illegal aliens including vicious murders, rapists, child pedophiles and incredibly dangerous individuals. A HUGE victory for public safety.”
Noem said investigators are also digging into what she described as a massive fraud scandal:
“There is MASSIVE Fraud in Minneapolis, at least $19 billion and that’s just the tip of iceberg. Our Homeland Security Investigators are on the ground in Minneapolis conducting wide scale investigations to get justice for the American people who have been robbed blind,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, Frey raised eyebrows Sunday when he compared ICE’s crackdown to an “invasion” — saying the influx feels like an “occupying force.”
