Ogles to Propose Measure to Overturn 1965 Immigration Act

A GOP congressman will introduce a bill to repeal and replace the most significant immigration measure in American history.

Representative Andy Ogles of Tennessee plans legislation to overturn the Immigration Act of 1965, which opened the United States to mass Third World immigration and forever altered the demographics of the country.

Ogles has been discussing the act for some time, riffing off a Truth Social post from President Trump in December. The act scrapped the “highly-effective” immigration law of 1924, which kept immigrants from the Third World out of the country. Ogles’ main obstacle might be the his own party.

Hart-Celler: Origins and Effect

Far-left Democratic Senator Phillip Hart of California and equally far-left Representative Emanuel Celler of New York introduced the bill — known as Hart-Celler — which President Lyndon Johnson signed into law in 1965.

Celler had been pushing for “immigration reform” since 1924, when he began fighting against the Immigration Act of 1924. That bill, the Johnson-Reed Act, was named for GOP Representative Albert Johnson of Washington and GOP Senator David Reed of Pennsylvania. It ended the wave of immigration that had inundated the United States starting in the late 19th century. “The 1924 law established a quota system based on national origins,” the Center for Immigration Studies explained in 2015:

It directed nearly 70 percent of the immigration slots to northern Europeans, cutting back drastically on immigration from southern and eastern Europe. It maintained formidable barriers against immigration from Asia and Africa, while leaving immigration from the Western Hemisphere unrestricted — a gesture of hemispheric solidarity that also served the cheap-labor interests of American employers.

Celler fought to overturn the 1924 bill for four decades. He deemed it “antisemitic” because it barred most immigrants from Southern and Eastern Europe. He succeeded in 1965, and had a key member of the Kennedy Mafia in his corner: Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts.

“One of the strongest arguments against the reform bill was presented at a Senate hearing by Myra C. Hacker, of a group called the New Jersey Coalition,” CIS explained. Testified Hacker to the U.S. Senate:

In light of our 5 percent unemployment rate, our worries over the so-called population explosion, and our menacingly mounting welfare costs, are we prepared to embrace so great a horde of the world’s unfortunates? At the very least, the hidden mathematics of the bill should be made clear to the public so that they may tell their congressmen how they feel about providing jobs, schools, homes, security against want, citizen education, and a brotherly welcome … for an indeterminately enormous number of aliens from underprivileged lands.

For its part, the Johnson administration peddled the line that nothing much would change about immigration, while Kennedy did his part in the Senate. Said Kennedy:

The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.

“This bill that we will sign today is not a revolutionary bill,” Johnson claimed.

Ogles’ Bill

Both statements were bald lies, as the demographics of the country now show. In 1970, immigrants composed about 4.6 percent of the population. By 2014, that figure was 13.3 percent. By 2060, it will be 20 percent, Census Bureau projections show. Last year, 15.8 percent of the population was foreign-born, CIS reported.

Ogles hopes to stop that trend before the United States imports so many immigrants from the Third World that it becomes the Third World. His bill will be titled the Assimilation Act.

“The Hart-Celler Act scrapped the highly effective national-origins quota system and replaced it with an immigration regime built to favor third-world migration,” he wrote in December over Trump’s denunication:

It opened America’s doors to mass inflows from the developing world, permanently reshaping our nation’s demographics.

Because of Hart-Celler, foreign mafias, third-world ganglords, and communists took root in every major city.

Text of the bill is not available at his website, but Fox News reported some of it. “All immigration to the United States shall serve the economic, cultural, and security interests of the United States as determined by Congress,” the draft says.

“It would also eliminate the diversity visa lottery, an annual quota allowing for 55,000 immigrant visas for people from countries with otherwise low migration rates to the U.S.,” Fox reported. Another target: chain migration, whereby one immigrant lands here then imports hundreds of relatives. They, in turn, import hundreds more.

Declaration of War

Ogles called Hart-Celler the “most recent declaration of war” that Congress has passed.

“Not only did this legislation declare war on American culture, but it has also been sending foreign troops to every American community to steal their jobs, erase their religion, and infiltrate their schools,” Ogles wrote:

I am preparing a monumental bill that repeals Hart-Celler, ends the H1-B visa scam, ends chain migration, and creates a whole new character-based system that would make America look like America again. The ASSIMILATION Act is how we can save our culture and secure our country.

On March 2, Ogles wrote on X that Third World immigration will be stopped, and on March 9, announced his proposal to ban Islamic immigration to the United States.

“Mass Islamic immigration, legal or illegal, has transformed America and brought destructive consequences,” Ogles said. “America’s moral exemplar is a meek carpenter who rose from the dead, not a warmonger with 12 wives and countless slaves. My bill will preserve this truth.”

The “Halt Immigration from Countries with Inadequate Verification Capabilities Act” would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to stop immigration from Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen.
