Within various forms of religious relativism, there is a not-so-hidden soft totalitarianism that is swiftly moving into “harder” versions with devastating real-life consequences for anyone who dares to openly resist it. One of the central intellectual challenges posed to the Church by modernity is the question of the exclusivist particularity of God’s Revelation in Jesus Christ. Modernity has never been at ease with the Christian claim that somehow and someway all salvation comes from Christ and that to be saved one must have a relationship via grace with Christ.
