Parents Punish Teen By Forcing Him To Stay Up To Watch Jimmy Kimmel Monologue

FRANKLIN, TN — In what was later described as “unusually cruel”, local parents punished their teen son by forcing him to stay up to watch Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue.

The incident occurred last night, after Jayden Brooks ran afoul of his parents by failing to return home by the set curfew, resulting in his parents, Brad and Shelly Brooks, handing down a sentence far more severe than anything he had received before.

“Please, you can’t do this to me, I’m begging you,” Jayden was heard saying after hearing what his penalty would be. “Jimmy Kimmel? Seriously? Isn’t the punishment supposed to fit the crime? I mean, I know I screwed up by coming home late without letting you guys know where I was, but Jimmy Kimmel? His entire monologue? Can’t you just ground me for a week?”

While his parents acknowledged that the punishment was severe, they stood by it. “Something has to be done,” Brad said. “It’s not that we want to do this to Jayden. We don’t. But he has to learn that there are consequences when he makes poor decisions. We hope he learns his lesson and we’ll never have to resort to extreme measures like this ever again. Trust us, it’s hurting us a lot more than it’s hurting him.”

Brad’s wife agreed. “It’s never fun to punish your child,” she said. “But after what he did, we knew what needed to happen. Brad said, ‘Turn on Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘ And, as hard as it is, I support the decision.”

At publishing time, Brad and Shelly Brooks had last been seen hugging their sobbing and repentant son following Kimmel’s monologue, as he vowed never to disobey them ever again.

The news media seems to be having a problem reporting the news.
