The number of women injured inside unregulated, unlicensed Illinois abortion clinics continues to climb, with two more women rushed to the emergency room amidst life-threatening abortion complications at Planned Parenthood Aurora – just over a week apart. This brings the tally in 2025, alone, to 19 women injured across eight clinics in the state.
“And these are just the injuries we know about,” says Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “Abortion clinics do all they can to hide the injuries they inflict on women. It is only thanks to dedicated pro-lifers keeping prayerful vigil on these sidewalks that this carnage has even been documented. How many more women carried away on a stretcher go unseen?”
‘No Sirens and No Lights’
911 records provided by Pro-Life Action League for both of these recent emergencies reveal Planned Parenthood employees almost immediately requested no sirens or lights. In one instance, the 911 dispatcher didn’t even get a chance to ask about the patient before the staffer blurted out, “When they come can you have no sirens please?”

This is not the first time Planned Parenthood Aurora has tried to downplay an abortion emergency by requesting a silent approach. It’s not even the second time. This Planned Parenthood has a documented history of covering over emergencies and even withholding information from 911 dispatch.
These two more recent emergencies only confirm that pattern.
August 29: Uncontrolled Bleeding
Planned Parenthood staffers called 911 around 12:39 PM for a 40-year-old woman experiencing bleeding after “an abortion service.” This abortion clinic commits both medical abortions up to 11 weeks gestation and surgical abortions up to 22 weeks. It is unknown how far along this woman’s child was in the womb, but post-procedure bleeding indicates a surgical abortion.
The caller was not even certain whether or not the hemorrhaging woman was still conscious at the time of the brief 911 call. She can be heard asking someone in the background for that crucial and very basic information.
September 6: A Uterine Perforation
Just seven days later, a second ambulance was called for a 37-year-old woman with a “uterine perforation.” The Planned Parenthood staffer did not seem to know how to pronounce “perforation” and had to be coached by someone in the background of the call.
In fact, during the 911 call, the same “background voice” can be heard coaching the first caller several times, including reminding her to ask for “no sirens and no lights.” By the end of the call, the “background voice” seems to actually take the phone and take charge of the call.
Untrained, Unregulated
“Clearly the first caller in this life-threatening situation was untrained and unprepared to answer basic questions from dispatch,” adds Newman. “Imagine lying on an operating table, a hole torn through your uterus, and then hearing untrained staff stumbling through crucial questions from 911 – the only source who now has the ability to help you.
“This is not healthcare. This is slapdash butchery with no accountability from the state, and no consequences when women are maimed. It’s only a matter of time before these frequent abortion injuries in Illinois start resulting in abortion deaths.”
Despite the growing number of serious abortion injuries uncovered by the investigative work of groups like Operation Rescue and Pro-Life Action League, radicalized Illinois still refuses to require any abortion facilities to be inspected or regulated. These facilities enjoy special protections and privileges while women are left to enter at their own risk.
Newmans adds, “As is always the case with the abortion industry, women and preborn children are forced to carry the cost while abortion clinics escape all accountability and take all the profit.”
