POTUS Pokes Fun at Mamdani Comparisons, ‘I’m a Much Better-Looking Person’ [WATCH]

President Donald Trump lit up 60 Minutes Sunday night with jokes, jabs, and a few sharp elbows aimed straight at Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic socialist running for New York City mayor.

“Some people have compared him to a left-wing version of you. Charismatic. Breaking the old rules. What do you think about that?” CBS correspondent Norah O’Donnell asked.

“Well, I think I’m a much better-looking person than him,” Trump shot back — grinning.

The president didn’t stop there. He branded Mamdani a “communist.”

“He’s far worse than a socialist,” Trump added. Mamdani has publicly described himself as a democratic socialist.

Trump also threw shade at Mamdani’s leadership prospects.
“I think he’s probably gonna make [former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio] look great. I think he will make de Blasio look like one of our great mayors. De Blasio was the worst mayor we’ve ever had,” he said.

The 60 Minutes sit-down marked Trump’s first interview with the show in five years. The segment, taped in advance and edited for Sunday’s broadcast, came with a familiar dose of media skepticism.

“Let’s see if they treat me better than they treat other people,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One. “Although, I do say this, they treated Kamala very well. In fact, they changed her answers.”

Back in July, Trump reached a $16 million settlement with Paramount, the parent company of CBS News, over that 2024 60 Minutes interview with then–Vice President Kamala Harris — even as he continues to sue CBS for $10 billion, claiming they edited the interview to “tip the scales in favor of the Democratic Party.”
