Six Red Rose Rescuers were arrested while peacefully offering roses and resources to mothers going into the Delaware County Women’s Center, an abortion facility that only provides chemical abortion pill “procedures,” located at the Crozer Chester professional office building.
They were charged with disorderly conduct and defiant trespass, “defiant” only because the rescuers refused to “obey” the officers’ request to leave the abortion center, explaining that “we cannot leave as long as the unborn are scheduled to be killed.”
The pathetically exorbitant bond was set at $20,000 and the rescuers eventually were sent to the George Hill Correctional Facility in Glen Mills, PA. Bond of $2000 per person was raised for five people, slowly, except Joan Bell, who, at this time, has refused bail and is currently incarcerated.
The five rescuers now out on bond are: Monica Miller, Will Goodman, Patty Woodworth, Eric Holmberg and ChristyAnne Collins.
Red Rose Rescuers peacefully offered words of support and alternatives to abortion as well as information on abortion pill reversal.

The staff was heard to explain to the many patients, that there was “no need be frightened,” that “the protesters are very peaceful and will not harm you.” About ninety minutes into the rescue the staff announced that they were “closing the clinic for the day,” and all abortion appointments for the eight women who had arrived to kill their unborn children were cancelled.
The women were told “we don’t have enough time to service your abortions today.” Every woman left the abortion center without having been given the deadly abortion pills. The rescuers celebrated this as a great victory
The unborn children scheduled for execution were given a reprieve and every mother given an opportunity to reconsider their decision to abort. Due to the location of the abortion center it is impossible for pro-lifers to do any effective sidewalk counseling, thus only by entering the building itself could the women scheduled for abortion be reached.
Inside the abortion center waiting room the rescuers observed propaganda signs which read “Abortion is Normal, with smaller print: “Abortion is Freedom, Abortion Is Healthcare, Abortion is for Every (Body)” with another sign stating: “Every Woman Who Has Had an Abortion is Loved by Someone.”
The Red Rose Rescuers were removed by local police and held overnight for their arraignment the next day, August 1st. By Sunday, August 3rd, the five rescuers were released. A preliminary hearing is set for Thursday, August 14th, however it will likely be continued. One of the arresting officers showed some sympathy with what the rescuers were trying to do, even telling them that years ago he was involved with an abortion.
The police treated some of the rescuers harshly. The conditions of the first overnight jail were quite harsh, with no bedding: only concrete or small metal benches to rest on, in addition to being kept in handcuffs for over five hours. It was extremely cold for the women. At the county prison they were forced to stay in a crowded room with no benches for hours during intake. Nonetheless, the rescuers were at peace, knowing that they made an attempt to defend unborn children and reach out to their mothers—with four of the eight women accepting pro-life literature from the rescuers.
