Resurfaced Vid Shows Tenn. Dem Candidate Aftyn Behn Being Thrown Out Of Governor’s Office [WATCH]

They call her the “AOC of Tennessee.”

Democratic Tennessee congressional candidate Aftyn Behn was forcibly removed from Republican Gov. Bill Lee’s office in April 2019.  The incident was captured in resurfaced footage showing her screaming and crying as security cleared the area.

Behn, alongside members of the activist group Enough is Enough–Tennessee, staged a sit-in at the state capitol, demanding Gov. Lee call for the resignation of then–Republican state Rep. David Byrd, who faced sexual misconduct allegations.

When the office doors opened, Behn and other demonstrators attempted to rush inside, prompting officers to remove them.

NewsChannel 5 Nashville footage shows troopers dragging Behn from the office as she screamed, then dropping to her knees and sobbing on the floor.

Officers warned the group they would be arrested if they did not leave. Most complied — Behn did not, and was taken into custody.

Roughly a month later, new footage captured Behn yelling from the state House chamber gallery during the 111th General Assembly, again demanding Byrd’s resignation. She was forcibly removed, cited, and later released.

Behn is now running in the special election for Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District on Dec. 2, facing Republican nominee Matt Van Epps, a former commissioner under Gov. Lee. The election was triggered by the resignation of former GOP Rep. Mark Green.
