Zenaida Perez, a dedicated teacher at Centreville High School, has filed a lawsuit against Fairfax County Public Schools after the district suspended her for courageously exposing a school social worker’s secret facilitation of abortions on teen girls and their babies without parental consent.
Perez’s lawsuit accuses the district of violating her rights by placing her on paid administrative, a move she views as punitive for shining a light on the scandal.
“They are now suspending me with pay indefinitely,” Perez told 7News. “Who knows until when. And that is a way to retaliate against me for bringing this subject to light.”
Undeterred, she declared, “Everything I said is true. I am strong and determined to bring the truth to light. I used to be terrified. In 2022 – 2023, I was looking for ways to bring this to light. I have exposed them seven times throughout these years, but now I’m fully determined to keep up fighting because the truth has to come out, and honesty and truthfulness will prevail.”
Pro-life advocates hail Perez’s stand as a vital defense of vulnerable children and parental rights, decrying the district’s retaliation as an attempt to silence whistleblowers and protect a culture of secrecy around the taking of innocent lives and preying on vulnerable children.
Perez, who reported the incidents dating back to 2021, claims the social worker not only arranged and funded an abortion for one underage student but also pressured another minor to undergo an abortion without notifying their guardians.

“Did a student tell you they had an abortion and a school social worker facilitated that abortion?” a reporter asked Perez, to which she responded unequivocally, “Yes.”
When pressed further about the second student who fled the abortion center, Perez confirmed again, “Yes.”
She emphasized that the students’ legal guardians informed her the school had failed to alert them about the abortions orchestrated by staff.
The allegations, which surfaced publicly over the summer of 2025, prompted an immediate investigation by Fairfax County Public Schools in August, followed by a criminal probe ordered by Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin.
“I am deeply concerned with the allegations that Fairfax County Public Schools officials arranged for minors to get abortions without parental consent and may have misused public funds to pay for them,” Youngkin said. “I am directing the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation to open a full criminal investigation into the matter immediately.”
The Virginia State Police investigation, ordered by Youngkin, remains ongoing, with his office confirming to 7News on Friday, “The VSP criminal investigation remains ongoing. The Governor learned of the allegations in August 2025 when they became public and immediately initiated this investigation.”
The case has also drawn federal scrutiny, with FCPS submitting a 61-page response to the U.S. Senate HELP Committee and the Department of Education.
