When someone shows you who he is, believe him. The Left has chosen its heroes by following its heart: It sides with the would-be presidential assassins that D.C. juries won’t indict and Democrat judges won’t jail. The Left makes a martyr out of domestic abuser and human trafficker Kilmar Abrego Garcia — whom it fought tooth and nail to save from deportation because he feared “persecution.” Funny, a lot of countries treat human smugglers badly, and it wasn’t that long ago that both political parties in the U.S. would have agreed that we shouldn’t roll out the red carpet for them, either.
Not here, not now. Last weekend, CBS News tried to airbrush Garcia’s gang membership and criminal activities, only for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to call that network out.
This morning, I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety.

How is CBS’s supposed goal of informing the public served by selectively editing out the brutal criminal record of an illegal alien by clipping the words of one of our nation’s highest officials? Simple: It doesn’t. It serves some other goal. And we’re forced to wonder exactly what that goal is.
It would be one thing if the Left were reciting sob stories of harmless Mexican nannies getting ripped away from the spoiled white kids they care for. (Think of George W. Bush’s pro-immigration book, inspired by the docile, low-paid foreigners his parents paid to raise him.) That would still be manipulative, but it wouldn’t seem so demonic. But that would be so 2017.
The Party of Chaos and Crime
The Left has come a long way since then, or rather has ripped off its mask to reveal itself as the faction that favors chaos and crime, that embraces perversion and violence, that simply wants to destroy what now exists and wait to see what emerges from the ruins. There’s a term for that impulse in political science. It’s nihilism, the philosophy Fyodor Dostoevsky diagnosed in his classic novel The Possessed. I’d suggest that you go read it, but maybe you don’t need to since we’re all acting it out, in a real-time, almost end-times production with a cast of hundreds of millions.
The Democrats and their captive churches pretend to advocate for migrants. But which prominent Democrat, which Catholic bishop or progressive Protestant pastor has spoken up about the hundreds of thousands of immigrant children the Biden administration lost? Or sent to unvetted “sponsors” to be trafficked and abused? The sheer number is staggering, though different sources give different figures for it. The latest from the Trump administration reports that it’s around 450,000 — which is close to the entire population of Miami, Florida.
London’s Daily Mail reports a smaller figure, but tells a horrifying story about what’s happening to those children:
After an estimated 233,000 children who crossed the US-Mexico border alone during President Joe Biden‘s tenure were lost, law enforcement has started to locate them – only to learn of the horrors they have faced.
Since March, the Trump administration has tracked down 22,638 kids, finding some in ‘deplorable’ conditions, dead and others being used as sex slaves, officials told Fox News.
‘We found children who have been raped,’ John Fabbricatore, HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement senior advisor told the network.
‘We’re talking about debt bondage, where children are being made to work off debt, trafficking debt. We’re talking about children that were brought into situations and then treated like sexual slaves.’
At least 27 of those lost children have been confirmed dead, with causes of death ranging from murder, suicide, car accidents or drug overdoses.
‘Children are in horrific environments, just environments that they should not be in, where the sponsor is a heroin dealer and that child winds up dying of a heroin overdose,’ explained Fabbricatore.

This is the face of immigration chaos, which Democrats and woke Christians are happy to accept in silence as the price of gaining power. It’s a modern-day slave trade with a happy-clappy rainbow sticker slapped across its face.
Wholesale Autopen Pardons Might Be Going Bye-Bye
No, not Hunter Biden’s pardon. Joe Biden summoned all his waning powers of attention to sign that one himself in a shaky hand. But thousands of other pardons tossed out like Halloween candy corn in the waning days of the Biden administration are coming under scrutiny, with whistleblowers admitting that Biden himself knew nothing about the cases and may not have personally authorized the pardons, which were signed by autopen. They ranged from the pardon of COVID virus creator Dr. Anthony Fauci to a Chinese national with tens of thousands of child porn images on his computer. We learn this courtesy of left-leaning Axios:

If neither the then-president nor his Justice Department reviewed the cases and the president himself didn’t sign them, in what sense are they legally valid? That’s a question Trump’s Justice Department is carefully examining right now. We might see justice for some of these criminals yet.

White Leftists March for More Dead Black People in Washington, D.C.
As Christians, we know we are sinners, and hope for much, much better than we deserve. Likewise, as sane people we realize that voting pro-crime, socialist mayors into office is a recipe for disaster — so in one sense, the residents of blue cities such as Washington, D.C., are just reaping what they’ve sown. But these are our fellow Americans, and we want better for them. We don’t want to see the party of chaos and crime pile up new thousands of victims (most of them non-white) just because they tend to vote for Democrats. That’s why most conservatives support President Donald Trump’s federal takeover of law enforcement in our nation’s capital.
The Left, by contrast, is so attached to disorder and looting for their own sakes that it’s willing to see its own voters robbed, raped, and killed. And thousands of self-styled “antiracist” progressives are willing to march in the streets of suddenly peaceful, safe neighborhoods to demand that chaos return.

Justice Department figures show violent crime in 2024 fell to its lowest level in three decades in Washington, a federal district governed by Congress….
Washington D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb on Thursday filed a lawsuit for courts to block the troop deployment, arguing that it was unconstitutional and violated multiple federal laws. But some residents have welcomed the National Guard and called for the troops to be deployed in the less affluent parts of the city where crime is rampant. The National Guard has been mostly visible in downtown and tourist areas.
Washington D.C. mayor Muriel Bowser has praised Trump’s surge of federal law enforcement personnel into the city, but hoped that the National Guard’s mission would end soon. Bowser said there had been a sharp decline in crime, including carjackings since the surge. The mayor this week signed an order requiring the city to coordinate with federal law enforcement.
Elderly black Washingtonians are sitting outside in their garden chairs, unafraid, for the first time in years.
