President Donald Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent will headline the Trump Accounts Summit from Washington’s Mellon Auditorium, as the administration ramps up a high-profile push for a new child investment program tied to tax filing season and scheduled to go live this summer.
The initiative, branded “Trump Accounts,” provides a $1,000 government seed deposit for eligible children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, with parents able to open accounts during tax season and add additional contributions over time.
Administration officials and outside partners have framed the accounts as a pro-family, wealth-building tool designed to expand market participation and encourage long-term saving, with Bessent saying more than 500,000 sign-ups have been recorded in recent days.
ABC News reported the Wednesday program will feature a mix of political and business figures, including Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), investor Kevin O’Leary, Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell, and actress Cheryl Hines, with Treasury officials also expecting additional corporate pledges and matches to be announced.
