Trump Given Special Award Ahead of World Cup Drawing [WATCH]

President Donald Trump just kicked down another historic door — this time on the world soccer stage — after being awarded the very first FIFA Peace Prize, a brand-new global honor meant to celebrate “exceptional and extraordinary actions for peace.”

“This is what we want from a leader. A leader who cares about the people,” said FIFA president Gianni Infantino. “We want to live in a safe world. We want to unite … You definitely deserve the first FIFA Peace Prize for your action. For what you have obtained, in your way – but you obtained it in an incredible way.”

The president wasted no time savoring the victory.

“This is truly one of the great honors of my life,” Trump declared in his acceptance speech, giving a special shout-out to First Lady Melania Trump.

FIFA credited the president with brokering peace in multiple hotspots around the world.

The soccer world’s governing body first teased the new award back in November, but stayed mum on who would receive it, fueling speculation that Trump was the frontrunner all along.
