President Donald Trump has threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act in Minnesota to stop far-left protests and attacks against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis.
This morning’s warning came about 13 hours after a Venezuelan illegal alien resisted arrest and attacked an ICE agent. Two other goons also attacked the agent and attempted to assist the illegal’s escape.
The usual protests followed, with far-left, hate-ICE Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey again calling for ICE to depart the city. The hate-Trump New York Times falsely claimed that the agent shot an “immigrant.”

The Shooting, False Headline
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) detailed the shooting on X.
At about 6:50 p.m. Central time on Wednesday, “federal law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted traffic stop in Minneapolis of an illegal alien from Venezuela who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022,” DHS reported.
The agency told Fox News’ Bill Melugin that the officer worked for ICE.
The illegal alien raced away in his car, “crashed into a parked car … then fled on foot,” DHS continued:
The law enforcement officer caught up to the subject on foot and attempted to apprehend him when the subject began to resist and violently assault the officer. While the subject and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and also attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.
As the officer was being ambushed and attacked by the two individuals, the original subject got loose and began striking the officer with a shovel or broom stick.
Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired defensive shots to defend his life. The initial subject was hit in the leg.
All three subjects ran back into the apartment and barricaded themselves inside.
The attacked officer and subject are both in the hospital. Both attackers are in custody.
The Times published this “despicably misleading headline,” as DHS called it: “Federal Agent Shoots Immigrant in Minneapolis, Homeland Security Says: The agent shot an immigrant from Venezuela in the leg while trying to arrest him. The shooting comes a week after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman in the city.”

The headline “is exactly why the American people have completely lost faith in the mainstream media,” DHS complained on X:
This journalist knows the facts, was given the truth, and adamantly refuses to report it.
The newspaper edited the headline at its website to call the illegal a “man,” and called the DHS account of the shooting a “narrative.”
The Times X post that links to the story repeats the “immigrant” lie by omission.
Melugin’s post about the headline noted that it did not mention the “alleged shovel attack, multiple suspects involved in alleged attack, legal status of the targeted illegal alien, etc.”
Frey Responds; Trump Responds to Frey
Frey, who apparently believes federal authorities have no authority to enforce immigration in the blue city, again ordered ICE out of the city, as he did after an ICE agent shot and killed leftist agitator Renee Good when she attempted to run down the agent in her SUV.
“Tonight a man was shot in the leg by an ICE agent on the Northside,” Frey wrote on X:
No matter what led up to this incident, the situation we are seeing in our city is not sustainable.…
I have seen conduct from ICE that is intolerable. And for anyone taking the bait tonight, stop. It is not helpful. We cannot respond to Donald Trump’s chaos with our own chaos.
Trump answered Frey on Truth Social Thursday morning:
If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the patriots of I.C.E., who are only doing their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great state.
The White House reposted the warning on its X feed.
“Whenever the President considers that unlawful obstructions, combinations, or assemblages, or rebellion against the authority of the United States, make it impracticable to enforce the laws of the United States in any State by the ordinary course of judicial proceedings, he may call into Federal service such of the militia of any State, and use such of the armed forces, as he considers necessary to enforce those laws or to suppress the rebellion,” the act says.
Dangerous Illegals Arrested
This morning, ICE and DHS provided a list of the illegal-alien criminals that Frey and far-left Democratic Governor Tim Walz are protecting by not honoring detainers from ICE. Since Trump took office, authorities in Minnesota have put about 450 of the dangerous thugs back on the street, DHS says.
Among those arrested yesterday — the same day the illegal Venezuelan and two accomplices attacked the ICE agent — are these convicted criminals, or “neighbors,” as Frey calls them:
- Salvadoran Jose Miguel Reyes Jovel — MS-13 gang member, homicide, drug trafficking and selling amphetamine; aggravated homicide in El Salvador in 2011.
- Burmese Htun Min Pai — former South Side Crips, three counts of felony drug possession, vehicle theft, drunk driving.
- Thai Teng Houa Vang — arson, assault, trespassing, domestic assault, terroristic threats, peeping tom, obstructing police, drug possession.
- Salvadoran Francisco Salazar-Solorzano — assault, domestic violence, drunk driving.
Also included in the arrests are eight members of the Colombian Paisas gang, which is “known for being ruthless, eliminating their enemies and, at times, families of their enemies in an attempt to instill fear,” InSight Crime reports.
Other members of MS-13 were also arrested.
