U.S. — Mattel has announced the release of “Uno: Even More Brutal Edition” which will include cards that SWAT family members and have them arrested on bogus federal charges.
After the success of “UNO: No Mercy” which upped the ante with cards like “Draw 10”, the new edition promises to elevate the excitement even further by calling in phony hostage situations to activate the nearest SWAT team.
“Get ready to turn game night up a notch,” said Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz. “This isn’t your grandma’s UNO. The front door will be off its hinges and you’ll be dodging flashbangs before the game is over. We promise ‘UNO: Even More Brutal Edition’ will literally be the most exciting family game night you’ll have for the rest of your life, because several family members will be incarcerated afterward.”
The new edition has earned rave reviews from enthusiasts of the original “UNO”. “It was so epic. My mom played a ‘Draw Two’, and then I countered by getting her arrested under the RICO act and now she’s facing 120 years in federal prison,” said local man Chris Dunning. “Oh man, you should have seen the look on her face when the SWAT team hit! So classic.”
At publishing time, Mattel had announced an expansion pack with a card that enlists a doctor to call a family member and give them a made-up terminal diagnosis.
