Warmongers Want to Drag America Into War With Russia, Says Gabbard

America’s top intelligence chief recently claimed that Western warmongers are trying to inflame a wider war with Russia and drag the United States into it.

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said Saturday in a social-media post that “warmongers” are creating propaganda to gin up fear, hysteria, and support for “the escalation of war” in Ukraine. She also attacked the recent blitz of propaganda saying that Russia wants to conquer Europe and wage war with NATO once it’s done with Ukraine.

“The truth is the US intelligence community has briefed policymakers … that US Intelligence assesses that Russia seeks to avoid a larger war with NATO,” Gabbard said. She added that, despite a media narrative to the contrary, Russia does not pose a threat to the rest of Europe. The intel community “also assesses that, as the last few years have shown, Russia’s battlefield performance indicates it does not currently have the capability to conquer and occupy all of Ukraine, let alone Europe,” Gabbard said.

Gabbard’s comments were a response to a Reuters reporter, Erin Banco, who claimed in an article she co-wrote that Russian head of state Vladimir Putin is trying to undermine the current peace negotiations and that he wants to take over all of Ukraine as well as former Soviet Union satellite countries, including those that are now NATO members. Gabbard called the article a lie and propaganda. Ultimately, Gabbard added, this is all part of a ploy to block President Donald Trump’s peace efforts and “pull the United States military directly into war with Russia.”

Another anti-intervention figure who has been warning for months that the globalist foreign-policy cabal is trying to stoke a regional war and draw the United States into it seconded Gabbard’s assessment. “The EU aka NATO (minus the United States) desperately wants war with Russia,” General Michael Flynn said. Flynn, who briefly served as President Trump’s national security advisor during his first term before he was torpedoed by the Deep State, was very irate. He added:

First, our CIA is in cahoots with MI6 and others in the EU IC community. These and other warmongers in our own administration as well as the Congress want perpetual f’ing war. I’m personally sick of it. It’s been over ten (10) years now! Keep in mind we were in AFG and Iraq for twenty years and it cost us trillions along with a massive loss of prestige. THIS SH!T HAS TO STOP! [Donald Trump] sir, you need to put your foot down on the situation in Eastern Europe and the total bs you’re being fed by Europe and parts of the USIC.

Flynn also echoed Gabbard’s assessment (as well as ours) that Russia doesn’t have what it takes to go past Ukraine. “Russian’s ambitions (and conventional capabilities) are the complete opposite of what is being presented in the media that is salivating for expanding the war,” Flynn said. “Russia has neither the A$$ nor the desire to go any further.”

Establishment Narrative

Gabbard’s comments contradict the Reuters narrative that Russia is planning war with Europe. The people who spoke to Reuters said that “U.S. intelligence reports continue to warn that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not abandoned his aims of capturing all of Ukraine and reclaiming parts of Europe that belonged to the former Soviet empire.” The article points out “the reports present a starkly different picture from that painted by U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukraine peace negotiators, who have said Putin wants to end the conflict.”

Reuters cited Representative Mike Quigley, a Democratic member of the House Intelligence Committee from Illinois, who said, “The intelligence has always been that Putin wants more. The Europeans are convinced of it. The Poles are absolutely convinced of it. The Baltics think they’re first.”

Quigley happens to be one of the worst legislators on Capitol Hill. He’s been in the House since 2009, and he’s managed to accrue an abysmal score of 10 percent on The New Americans’ Freedom Index, which rates members of Congress based on their adherence to the Constitution. He has voted against defunding the United Nations, against defunding USAID, and he always voted in favor of sending Ukraine Americans’ taxpayer money. He also thinks it OK for the government to spy on its citizens and he’s a staunch opponent to the second amendment.

Another sign that Gabbard is telling the truth is that Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who’s never seen a war he didn’t like, has introduced legislation to designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism.

Paul’s Response

Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) explained during a speech on the Senate floor the real purpose of this bill:

Designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism is … a dangerous provocation and a roundabout way of allowing military strikes on Russian targets. If you doubt this, ask the Venezuelans. All the kinetic strikes on Venezuelan boats are justified because they are designated as a terrorist sponsor.

Paul said the foreign-policy establishment’s desire to punish Russia “may make globalists in Washington feel virtuous, but in reality will do nothing to help Ukraine, do nothing to bring peace in Europe, and do nothing to make Americans safer or more prosperous.” Paul added that if the true goal is to destroy the peace process, Graham’s bill is the way to go. “If you like the war in Ukraine, vote for this bill,” he said. But if peace is the goal, the goal should be to establish a working relationship with Russia. That doesn’t mean that Russia isn’t the aggressor, he pointed out.

The Kentucky senator also took issue with the belief that more pressure and sanctions will work:

It’s absurd to think that applying more economic pressure on Russia will get them to change their objectives. They have fought for four years. They have lost tens of thousands of soldiers. They have killed tens of thousands of soldiers — some say up to a million casualties in this war. We already imposed 16,000 sanctions on them. Do we really think the 16,001 is going to do the trick? We think, “Oh, we’re going to call them a terrorist. What a terrible thing! They’re going to lay down their arms and give back the land they have taken.”

That’s not how it’s going to work out, Paul added. “If this bill is enacted, Russia will likely conclude that negotiations are futile and they will continue the grinding war of attrition on the battlefield,” which, he added, does not favor Ukraine.

Paul said the real goal of Graham’s bill is to justify bombing Russian assets without congressional approval, just as is happening with Venezuela. “Are we setting up the predicate for bombing Russian boats?” he asked. “Designating countries or cartels as terrorists essentially has become an end run around Congressional warmaking powers.”

Unlike Quigley and Graham, Paul’s voting record shows a consistent adherence to constitutional principle of noninterventionism. Gabbard, too, is known for her opposition to unnecessary foreign wars and international meddling. She was a controversial Cabinet nomination from the beginning. The Senate confirmed her by a margin of only four votes, with all Democrats voting against her. One Republican, another Establishment warmonger — Mitch McConnell — joined them.

Propaganda Campaign

The Reuters report is the latest in what is becoming an apparent propaganda campaign to generate support for the Europeans to attack Russia. You can read more about many similar reports and assessments that have recently come out in our previous article here.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday that claims by Western intel agencies of Russian expansionist ambitions are false. “Peskov said the allegation did not correspond to reality, regardless of whether it reflected an actual US document,” Russian media reported.

Whatever one thinks of the Russians, Americans must look at this war through the prism of what benefits America, not the warmongers, not the defense contractors, not the Ukrainians, not the Russians, and especially not the globalists. As we suggested just before this war kicked off, the globalists’ goal is a world war. Because a world war is the surest way to bring about large-scale global change — the type of change that makes it easier to install a world government.
