WH Nukes Couric Over Fetterman–Kirk Trap Question [WATCH]

Couric tried — and failed — to bait Fetterman.

Katie Couric clashed with Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., on Thursday’s episode of her podcast “Next Question.” The two sparred over President Donald Trump and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. The exchange triggered a fierce response from the White House.

Couric pushed Fetterman to disavow Trump and Kirk. The senator refused.

She then asked if it was appropriate that Kirk’s body was flown home on Air Force Two. She questioned whether he should have received the Medal of Freedom.

She said some critics saw the Trump administration’s honors as “over the top in terms of mourning someone like Charlie Kirk.”

Fetterman said the administration made its choice. Couric pressed again, pointing to Kirk’s past rhetoric that she said some would call “extreme.”

The White House fired back fast.

Communications Director Steven Cheung blasted Couric in a post on X.

“This washed-up idiot @katiecouric is an absolute ghoul. She tries to justify the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk. Disgusting people like Katie should be shamed and embarrassed forever,” Cheung wrote.
