Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested yet another Afghan terrorist who entered the country under the Biden administration’s disastrous Operation Allies Welcome.

This time, the Biden “migrant” was hiding out in Waynesboro, Virginia, a small city in the eastern Shenandoah Valley about 165 miles south of Washington, D.C.

Name: Jaan Shah Safi. Affiliation: the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria-Khorasan, or ISIS-K.

Safi is the third Afghan terrorist whom Biden let into the country that authorities arrested in the last week.

Background

If “terrorist” had an illustration in the dictionary, Safi might be it. Indeed, with the vacant look of the sociopath, Biden’s “welcome ally” looks like he showed up for a terrorist casting call at 20th Century Fox.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that his terrorist ties are deep, and that he “provided weapons to his father who is a commander of a militia group in Afghanistan.”

The terrorist landed in the U.S. on September 8, 2021 under the auspices, again, of the Biden administration’s dangerous Operation Allies Welcome. That program permitted almost 200,000 Afghans into the country, almost all of them unvetted, DHS chief Kristi Noem said.

“He applied for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) but his application was terminated once Secretary Noem ended TPS for Afghans,” DHS reported. ICE bagged him yesterday.

Operation Allies Welcome

“The Biden administration created one of the worst national security crises in American history. Biden let into our country nearly 190,000 unvetted Afghan aliens — only determining who they were and their intentions when they were already on American soil,” Noem said:

President Trump has been working every day since January 20 to clean up this unmitigated national security crisis.

Elaborating, DHS reported that the Biden administration “relied on unvetted referrals” to import the Afghan horde, which immediately began causing a major crime problem for U.S. and state and local officials. Biden imported Afghans who brought child brides with them, as well as those who committed sex crimes against kids and beat their wives. A gang of Afghans attacked a woman service member at a refugee compound near Fort Bliss.

GOP U.S. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri exposed just how perilous for Americans Operation Allies Welcome was. He revealed Biden’s order to bring in as many Afghans as possible as the U.S. departed the country. Biden phoned Ambassador to Afghanistan Ross Wilson with a direct order to pack flights with as many Afghans as possible. Vetting was ignored. Gregory Floyd, consul general at the embassy in Afghanistan, laid out Biden’s directive in an email, Hawley disclosed.

Sleepy Joe’s mandate: Shove Afghans onto the planes until the fuselage rivets burst. “Total inflow to the U.S. must exceed the number of seats available,” Floyd wrote:

Err on the side of excess.

Other Arrests

That’s exactly what happened, and since President Trump took office, ICE has been forced to track down terrorists. Safi is the third Biden-sponsored terrorist arrested in the last week.

Most notably now in custody is one Rahmanullah Lakanwal, arrested for murdering West Virginia Army National Guard Spc. Sarah Beckstrom, 20, and critically wounding Air Force National Guard Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, 24. Lakanwal struck on November 26 at Farragut Square, a six-minute walk from the White House.

Lakanwal was imported because he worked with an Afghan paramilitary unit affiliated with the CIA.

The outfits, called Zero Units, The New York Times reported, were death squads “which were formally part of the Afghan intelligence service but operated outside the usual chain of command, were largely recruited, trained, equipped and overseen by” the agency.

Lakanwal was a determined man, given that he lived in Bellingham, Washington. He drove 2,828 miles to commit murder.

Over Thanksgiving weekend, authorities in Tarrant County, Texas, collared would-be Afghan terrorist Mohammad Dawood Alokozay.

He posted a TikTok video of himself “indicating he was building a bomb with an intended target of the Fort Worth area,” DHS reported.

Terror Suspect Caught, Released, Caught

A frightening example of the insouciance with which Biden officials treated Afghans is an upstanding individual named Mohammad Kharwin.

As the Center for Immigration Studies’ Andrew Arthur revealed in April last year, the Border Patrol caught Kharwin after he jumped the border at San Ysidro, California, on March 10, 2023.

Information in the terrorist watch list matched Kharwin, who should have been detained, per U.S. immigration law. But because the Biden administration ignored that law — one reason the U.S. House impeached then-Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — border agents released him.

Arthur reported that ICE knew nothing about Kharwin, and only learned about him

11 months after he was released, when the FBI contacted the agency to inform it that Kharwin is a suspected member of Hezb-e-Islami (HIG), which the U.S. Director of National Intelligence describes as a “virulently anti-Western insurgent group.”

ICE agents then dutifully went out and arrested Kharwin in San Antonio, Texas, on February 28. And it is at this point that his story goes from the strange and unusual to the disturbing and concerning.

A month after he was arrested, Kharwin appeared in ICE detention before an immigration judge in Pearsall, Texas.

That judge released him on a $12,000 bond. Thus did the government set loose a terrorist to roam hither and thither wherever he pleased.

He was finally “arrested again after being allowed to live in the United States at large for over a year,” DHS reported on X.
