Pro-Abortion Woman Hits Pro-Life Advocate With Her Car Outside Planned Parenthood

A Washington woman angry with pro-life protesters outside a Planned Parenthood abortion facility struck one of them with her SUV after an argument, authorities said.

Sierra D. Godfrey, 32, of Richland, is accused of swerving toward two men standing near the exit of the Bonnie Avenue abortion facility on December 1 with the intent to scare them.

Instead, she hit one in the leg and hip, knocking him down before fleeing the scene.

Godfrey, who allegedly admitted to police that she hit the protester and drove away, was arrested December 15 and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of second-degree assault and hit-and-run.

Three men were peacefully protesting abortion outside the Kennewick Planned Parenthood when a white SUV entered the parking lot, according to court documents. Godfrey allegedly exited the vehicle, approached the abortion clinic entrance and became involved in a verbal confrontation with one of the protesters.

As she returned to her SUV, that individual followed her, and she pushed him before driving off.

The other two protesters, who were not involved in the argument, stated the man was not with them and that they were “respectful and calm throughout the verbal argument between Sierra and the protesters.”

As Godfrey drove toward the exit, she allegedly swerved toward the pair, striking one man. Video from a GoPro camera worn by one of the protesters captured the incident and the SUV’s license plate, leading police to identify and locate Godfrey.

Medics evaluated the injured pro-life advocate at the scene and determined he was medically stable.

Godfrey appeared in court via video on December 16, where prosecutors recommended $10,000 bail. Judge David Petersen raised it to $20,000, noting that it would be higher if roles were reversed. Bail was posted the same day.

The case highlights growing tensions around abortion facilities, where peaceful pro-life advocates often face hostility while defending the rights of the unborn.
