Adults Able to Pose as 13-Year-Old Girls to Order Dangerous Abortion Pills Online

An undercover investigation has exposed how easily adults can pose as 13-year-old girls to order powerful and deadly abortion drugs online, with no identity verification, no confirmation of pregnancy, and no medical oversight required.

Dr. Christina Francis, a board-certified OB/GYN and CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG), conducted the review of the online abortion pill seller AidAccess, accessed through the Plan C website.

She completed the intake process while posing as a 13-year-old girl on blood thinners, with an intrauterine device in place, a history of three prior cesarean sections, and a previous ectopic pregnancy — all factors that would significantly increase the risk of severe complications from the drugs.

Women have died using the abortion pill with such risks.

The June 2026 report found that any individual, male or female, of any age can order the combination of mifepristone and misoprostol and receive the pills by mail. No government-issued identification was required. No proof of pregnancy or ultrasound to confirm gestational age or rule out ectopic pregnancy was needed, even when the user reported being unsure of how far along she was and had significant risk factors for ectopic pregnancy.

No real-time or asynchronous interaction with a medical professional occurred. Payment approval came less than two minutes after the form was submitted.

“Within like two minutes of submitting the form I got an email all I had to do was confirm and pay my 150. Doesn’t say that anybody reviewed any of the things that I did,” Dr. Francis noted in the report.

Survey responses could be altered without restriction at any point, allowing users to bypass questions about health conditions or other disqualifying factors simply by changing answers. The process also provided no meaningful screening for abuse or coercion, despite the investigator posing as a 13-year-old — a clear red flag for potential abuse that would prompt immediate action from any trained medical professional.

“You’re a 13-year-old who’s had three C-sections with an IUD and has anemia and they prescribed you the pills yes,” the report states regarding the outcome of the intake.

The system offered limited or unclear communication of medical risks and suggested users experiencing complications could lie to emergency room staff and say they were having a miscarriage. That could put women’s lives at risk.

“If you are worried you can just tell the medical staff that you are having a miscarriage. There is no way for medical staff to tell that you have taken abortion pills,” the report notes.

The investigation concluded that the removal of the in-person dispensing requirement has left women, girls, and preborn children vulnerable to medical malpractice and abusers. The lack of safeguards destroys legitimate informed consent and shifts all risk management onto patients, including minors.

The report highlights that the current distribution scheme allows gestational age to be easily manipulated and provides no continuity of care or identifiable provider. These findings demonstrate a complete absence of the essential safeguards present in traditional in-person medical care.

AAPLOG conducted the review to examine whether online platforms have sufficient medical oversight following regulatory changes that eliminated the in-person requirement for dispensing mifepristone. The organization warns that the system permits third parties, including potential abusers, to obtain the drugs for victims simply by filling out forms with fabricated information.

The ease with which high-risk conditions and minor status can be ignored underscores serious patient safety failures in the mail-order abortion pill process.
