HOLLYWOOD, CA — The movie industry saw the revival of one of its brightest young stars, as actress Brie Larson’s career showed signs of taking off to new heights after she started shutting up.
Though she had found her fortunes taking a hit in recent years following a string of public statements blasting society for being misogynistic and racist while loudly voicing support for progressive politics, Larson appeared to be poised for a career resurgence after deciding to shut her yap.
“I found I’m much more willing to stop berating conservative white men when I need a paycheck,” Larson told The Hollywood Reporter. “I had a bit of a rough go there for several years with the Marvel stuff, but things are looking up now that I’ve started shutting up.”
Entertainment insiders agreed that the most surefire way for an outspoken film star to get their career back on track was to shut their pie hole. “It’s amazing what keeping your mouth shut can do for your career,” said one prominent talent agent who asked to remain anonymous. “If you want to be popular with audiences and give your movies a chance to perform well at the box office, consider following in Brie Larson’s footsteps and keeping your yapper shut.”
Sources close to Larson admitted that her shutting up could only be a temporary situation, as she could start spouting off about politics as soon as she has a few successful projects under her belt.
At publishing time, actor Mark Ruffalo was still reportedly refusing to improve his career by putting a sock in it.
