Chuck Schumer Booed at NYC Pride Parade Despite Longtime LGBTQ Advocacy

Sen. Chuck Schumer received a mixed reception while marching in New York City’s Pride Parade on Sunday, with viral video showing the Senate Minority Leader being loudly booed by some attendees despite his decades-long support for LGBTQ rights.

Schumer walked the parade route waving a Pride flag and speaking through a bullhorn.

“Happy Pride!” the New York Democrat shouted to spectators.

Instead of cheers, however, some onlookers responded with sustained boos that lasted for nearly 20 seconds in one stretch of the route. Others gave Schumer two thumbs down and frowned as he passed.

Independent journalist Nick Sortor shared the clip on X, calling Schumer a “pathetic loser.”
