RACCOON CITY — Maintaining some semblance of his humanity, a grotesque boss monster located in an underground laboratory helpfully left plenty of health and ammo in the room right before anyone comes to fight him.
“Even vicious monsters can be civilized,” said the thing that used to be William Birkin as he made sure there was plenty of health and ammo for any hero that would dare challenge him in the main power room.
According to sources, many strong enemies leave health and ammo behind for the hero to collect because they’ve grown beyond the need for such things. In addition, there are many who prefer a real challenge.
“I’ve been hunting Jill Valentine for hours,” said Nemesis, a tyrant-variant who was once known as Steve. “If she dies right away, it’ll take all the fun out of the thrill of the hunt.”
The hideous amalgamation of machine and man added, “Man, I love Jill. I kind of hope she lives, you know?”
At publishing time, the mutated monstrosity that used to be Dr. William Birkin killed Leon S. Kennedy in two hits, leading to an existential crisis in which he blamed himself for not leaving more health and ammo behind.
