More than two decades have elapsed since Deborah Frisch, Ph.D., lost her position as a psychology instructor at the University of Arizona because of her harassment of “Protein Wisdom” blogger Jeff Goldstein. Rather than move on with her life, instead Frisch became obsessed with Goldstein and harassed him so persistently that finally, in 2018, she was sentenced to prison in Colorado. Frisch was released from prison in July 2025 and we all waited to see how long it would take her to relapse into her criminal habits and earn herself a return trip to prison.
Call it a hunch, but I don’t think it will be much longer.
What she has done on X is to show up in the replies to other people’s tweets posting vile stuff like that. She has also created a sockpuppet account, named for one of the three children strangled by Lindsay Clancy, and uses that account for similar purposes. The repetitive use of gross obscenity and sexual insults is symptomatic of brain damage, likely the result of chronic alcoholism and other substance abuse. Normal adults do not engage in that kind of potty-mouth behavior, and yet here is Frisch — who, I remind you, has a Ph.D. in psychology — acting like a schoolboy who just discovered a new dirty word. And she can’t help herself.
This behavior is compulsive with her. Despite having previously served time in prison for her stalking behavior, Frisch goes right back to it. Not only does she show callous disregard for the emotional harm inflicted on her chosen “enemies” (as she conceives those she has unjustly targeted for this vicious harassment) but she also has no regard for her own well-being and safety. Her criminal activity is a form of self-harm, comparable to “suicide by cop,” basically daring others to file charges against her.
As obnoxious as her online harassment may be, I am also aware of accusations that Frisch has recently engaged in stalking behavior in real life in Oregon. While I am not at liberty to share details of this situation, I have privately advised Frisch’s targets to exercise their Second Amendment rights. If she persists in menacing law-abiding citizens, Frisch may find herself confronted by deadly force.
The police in Oregon, who should be well aware of Frisch’s criminal record, need to stop ignoring the complaints about her behavior, or else they could eventually find themselves dealing with a homicide investigation, accompanied by headlines about their prior refusal to intervene. Like I keep telling people: Crazy People Are Dangerous.
