Sen. John Fetterman is breaking sharply with his own party on Iran.
The Pennsylvania Democrat said Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s recent military actions have “made the world safer,” a striking endorsement as many Democrats escalate criticism of the operation.
“Usually, the Iranians only respond [to] power…” Fetterman said during an appearance on Hannity.

He argued that the strikes have significantly degraded Iran’s nuclear ambitions, pointing to Israeli operations that have killed scientists and destroyed key facilities.
“Now it might force them to continue more kinds of military strikes, but remind everyone, their nuclear ambitions have been severely damaged at this point,” Fetterman said.
The senator acknowledged lingering concerns about Iran’s remaining enriched uranium stockpile, but maintained that the overall impact has been to weaken the regime and improve global security.
“Every single thing Iran has done is an entire war crime. Now, we are the force of good in the world,” he added.
Fetterman also rejected calls from fellow Democrats to rein in the administration through a new war powers vote.
“We’re not even 40 days into this… and now I’m reading that they have to force another war powers vote, and I will vote against that,” he said. “We have to stand behind our military to allow them to accomplish… the goals of Epic Fury.”
That stance puts him at odds with party leadership.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Democrats will push for a vote next week, arguing Congress must assert its authority as the conflict unfolds.
“The bottom line is… Iran still has its nuclear stockpile…” Schumer said Wednesday.
The split highlights a growing divide within the Democratic Party over how to respond to the escalating confrontation with Iran, balancing concerns about executive authority and escalation against arguments that the strikes have delivered tangible strategic gains.
