Hegseth, Caine Face House Hearing On Trump’s $1.5T Pentagon Budget Amid Iran Cease-Fire Crisis

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth heads to Capitol Hill with a $1.5 trillion war chest request and an Iran crisis breathing down Washington’s neck.

Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine are set to testify Tuesday morning before the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee on President Donald Trump’s fiscal 2027 Pentagon budget request.

The hearing is scheduled for 8 a.m. in Rayburn, with Hegseth, Caine and acting Pentagon comptroller Jules W. Hurst III listed as witnesses.
