Hunter Biden is finally cashing in on the laptop.
The former first son is turning the computer that fueled years of investigations, headlines, and political warfare into a meme coin, launching $LAPTOP as a billion-token crypto venture built around the scandal that helped define his public life.
The token is set to launch Sept. 9 on Base, the blockchain network developed by Coinbase.

Biden announced the project with a video montage of politicians and media figures repeatedly talking about the notorious computer.
In other words: the controversy is now the marketing campaign.
There will have 1 billion $LAPTOP tokens.
Thirty percent — 300 million coins — is allocated to Biden and the other founders. Those holdings are locked for six months and then vest over two years, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The launch caps a recent burst of public appearances from Biden, who has returned to interviews, podcasts and Substack after largely disappearing from public view following the criminal cases and investigations that dominated the final years of his father’s presidency.
He has also increasingly leaned into the laptop itself.
In a July post, Biden acknowledged that the computer contained years of deeply personal material documenting his drug addiction and other parts of his life, writing: “I am not denying any of it.”
Now the scandal has become the brand.
