Jasmine Crockett honors *checks notes* Chris Brown?!
The Texas Democrat joined Brown onstage at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Saturday, celebrating the R&B star and entering a recognition of his musical career into the Congressional Record.
Texas state Rep. Venton Jones joined her and presented Brown with a state legislative recognition.

“We are here because of Chris Brown!” Crockett shouted as the crowd cheered. “We are experiencing Black joy at the highest level. And I wanted to make sure we document that at the congressional level. So let’s give it up again for Chris Brown.”
Crockett then embraced Brown before leaving the stage.
The celebration quickly drew criticism online, including from progressive and Democratic supporters, who questioned why Crockett would formally honor Brown given his documented history of violence against women.
The central fact behind the backlash dates to 2009.
Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault after attacking his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to five years of probation, community service and domestic-violence counseling.

I’m not sure what she wants her next chapter to be, but I wish she’d close the current one before doing things like this.
Side note: all this means is that she did a floor speech, or submitted her words to the clerk, and then printed them and put them in a fancy folder. Dumb. https://t.co/v9hqWn1tNQ

Wait…Jasmine Crockett shows up to honor Chris Brown, a serial assaulter of women, but can’t show up to help Talarico defeat Paxton?! F that.
She’s in the Boebert, MTG, Fetterman and Luna camp. Influencers disguised as politicians. Some things are bigger than you and your pride. https://t.co/iRmIZvBzqp

Exactly. Chris Brown has a problem and several folks beyond Rihanna have met his violent rage. Its well-documented. This was a ridiculous move by Crockett. Also when Black women suffer DV at the highest rates and often fatally, this was tone deaf as hell. https://t.co/LkI40nB36d
