Kamala Harris Courts Zohran Mamdani, AOC as 2028 Presidential Speculation Intensifies

Kamala Harris is making nice with the Democratic Party’s left flank as 2028 whispers grow louder.

The former vice president reportedly spoke by phone last week with New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose influence has surged after socialist-aligned candidates he backed swept their races in last month’s New York Democratic primary.

Harris also met privately with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at a Black women’s empowerment summit in Chicago, according to Axios — outreach Fox News Digital confirmed.

The moves suggest Harris may be trying to repair relationships with progressives and pro-Palestinian activists who were critical of her during the 2024 campaign, especially over the Biden administration’s handling of the Israel-Gaza war.

Republicans are already pouncing.

RNC chair Joe Gruters told Fox News Digital that Harris courting Mamdani and other “radicals” shows where the Democratic Party is headed.

“This is who the Democratic Party is today: these radical leftists that want to fundamentally transform our country,” Gruters said. “And that’s why we have to fight. That’s why we have to come together, unite, and we have to win. We have to win to save the country. We have to win to move our policies forward. There’s a lot at stake. Certainly, Kamala Harris, the meeting with Mamdani and these radicals shows you where the left continues to go where they want to go, but listen, she has to kowtow to these radicals to try to win.”

The outreach comes as Harris continues to fuel speculation about another White House run, including recent stops in South Carolina — an early and crucial Democratic primary state.
