Mistrial Looms in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

The Lindsay Clancy murder trial is headed toward a mistrial — unless her attorney can stop it at the last minute.

After seven days of deliberations, jurors told Judge William Sullivan Friday morning for a third time that they could not unanimously decide whether to convict the 36-year-old mother on three counts of first-degree murder.

“It is with a heavy heart that we will not be able to come to unanimous decision,” Sullivan read from the jury’s note.

After nearly five weeks of testimony from roughly 85 witnesses, Sullivan said the deadlock left him with no choice but to declare a mistrial.

Then came the last-minute twist.

Defense attorney Kevin Reddington asked Sullivan to hold off while he seeks an emergency stay from an appeals court blocking the mistrial.

The judge agreed — but gave him just one hour to make his case.

For now, the jury remains deadlocked, and the mistrial is on hold.
