A new poll of likely voters shows Republican Ken Paxton leading Democrat James Talarico 48 percent to 45 percent in the Texas U.S. Senate race.
The Pulse Decision Science survey, conducted Sept. 24-27, was identified as a Republican internal poll.
Paxton, Texas attorney general since 2015, has drawn endorsements from major national pro-life groups that praise his record of defending unborn children. National Right to Life endorsed him earlier this month.
“National Right to Life is proud to endorse Ken Paxton for the U.S. Senate,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “Throughout his service as Texas attorney general, Ken Paxton has consistently defended life. We are confident he will bring that same commitment and leadership to the U.S. Senate.”

“The pro-life movement needs strong advocates in Washington who understand both what is at stake and whom we are called to protect,” Tobias said. “Ken Paxton will be an important voice for unborn children and all vulnerable members of the human family.”
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America endorsed Paxton in August, calling him a warrior for the unborn.
“Ken Paxton has been a warrior on behalf of the unborn in Texas. He is the fighter we need at this crucial moment to defeat radical James Talarico and stand in the arena of the U.S. Senate,” said SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Far-left abortion activists have had Texas babies in their crosshairs for years. They’ve flooded the state with illegal and dangerous abortion drugs, killing tens of thousands of unborn children each year and recklessly endangering women’s lives. At every single turn, Paxton has relentlessly defended babies, moms, and the rule of law.”
Dannenfelser said Talarico “voted against medical care for newborns who’ve just survived an abortion attempt” and pushed “to enshrine no-limits, all-trimester abortion in the Texas Constitution.” She said he “went so far as to call for federally run abortion centers in pro-life states.”
“The stakes are enormous. Talarico’s deeply unpopular agenda disqualifies him to lead anywhere, but especially in Texas and in the U.S. Senate,” Dannenfelser said. “Texans deserve a champion for the unborn who’ll defend innocent babies against these heartless attacks on their humanity and rights. In contrast, we know Ken Paxton is ready, willing and able to be that champion.”
Pro-life organizations credit Paxton with championing the Texas Heartbeat Act, suing over illegal mail-order abortion drugs sent into the state, supporting efforts to defund Planned Parenthood, and defending pregnancy centers. He previously served more than a decade in the Texas Legislature.
SBA Pro-Life America and its partner Women Speak Out PAC have pledged a $160 million investment to elect pro-life leaders in the 2026 midterms and 2028 presidential cycle.
Early voting runs Oct. 19-30. Election Day is Nov. 3.
