Planned Parenthood of Michigan is permanently closing three abortion centers effective Thursday as part of a network reorganization.
That’s a development pro-life advocates described as overdue accountability for an organization that prioritizes politics over patients, kills babies, and hurts women.
The Lansing, Livonia and Warren locations will shut their doors following a $4.2 million decline in patient care reimbursement and federal family planning funding from the prior fiscal year, compounded by $5.6 million in uncompensated and undercompensated care, according to the abortion organization.
Paula Thornton Greear, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Michigan claimed the closures are because of the federal defunding of the abortion giant last year, but funding has resumed this year as Congress has not approved a reconciliation bill to defund it again.

None of the three centers killed babies in abortions on site but all sold the dangerous abortion pill that has killed millions of babies and injured approximately 11% of women who take the deadly drug.
Remaining Planned Parenthood facilities are in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Detroit, Ferndale, Kalamazoo, Flint and Traverse City. The organization had already closed clinics in Jackson, Petoskey and Marquette earlier this year.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer blamed the closures on Republican actions in Washington, calling them the result of “historic attacks on reproductive freedom, healthcare access and Medicaid.”
But Right to Life of Michigan President Amber Roseboom rejected the funding claims in a statement to LifeNews.
“The suggestion that Planned Parenthood doesn’t have money to provide local services, merely weeks after announcing a $47 Million effort to defeat Republicans in key states, is shameful political theater. It’s preposterous,” she said.
“With abortion legal through all nine months of pregnancy in Michigan, the Democrats are desperately trying to manufacture an issue of ‘access’ to turn out their base. Michigan voters will see right through this charade. Access to abortion, reproductive and sexual health of any kind, is not limited in our state,” Roseboom added.
She concluded: “If Planned Parenthood is facing closures, they should be pointing to mismanagement of their own national organization, not the government. “This is good news for Michiganders who care about quality care and accountability.”
