Planned Parenthood Launches $2 Million Campaign to Defeat Pro-Life Republicans

Planned Parenthood’s political arm is launching a $2 million campaign to target Republican lawmakers in competitive districts who support restricting federal funding for the abortion company.

The effort will focus on swing districts in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania.

It specifically targets pro-life Reps. Juan Ciscomani of Arizona, Dave Schweikert of Arizona, Gabe Evans of Colorado, Bill Huizenga of Michigan, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, Tom Barrett of Michigan, Mike Lawler of New York, Mariannette Miller-Meeks of Iowa and Ryan Mackenzie of Pennsylvania.

Using digital ads and grassroots organizing, the campaign aims to mobilize local voters to pressure these frontline Republican lawmakers. Its stated goal is to force representatives to block congressional efforts to permanently strip dollars from Planned Parenthood’s abortion centers.

The move comes as a one-year restriction on Medicaid reimbursements for Planned Parenthood, enacted last year in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, now known as the Working Families Tax Cuts, has reached its July 4 expiration. Leading pro-life groups are lobbying Republicans to pass another recompilation bill that will defund Planned Parenthood again so taxpayers are not on the hook for funding the biggest abortion company in America.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, pointed to last year’s achievement and urged lawmakers to go further.

“Last year, on the Fourth of July, you helped accomplish something historic — the first ever defunding of Big Abortion businesses of their federal Medicaid dollars for one year,” Dannenfelser said. “Taxpayers should never be forced to fund businesses that prey on women and unborn children and simultaneously fund hostile political interests. Thanks to your hard work and commitment, H.R. 1, now known as the Working Families Tax Cuts, addressed this problem head-on.”

The new $2 million campaign builds on a $1.5 million effort Planned Parenthood rolled out in April.
