Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains has permanently closed its Northeast Heights abortion facility in Albuquerque.
The closure comes just months after the center reopened and resumed killing babies in abortions.
A closure notice posted at the site states: “THIS HEALTH CENTER IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED.” The notice directors customers to Planned Parenthood’s Eubank Health Center as of July 13.
Abortion Free New Mexico reported on April 9 that the Northeast Heights facility had reopened and begun doing abortions again.
The permanent shutdown follows another recent consolidation in the city. In July, Alamo Women’s Clinic closed its Montgomery Boulevard location and combined operations with Southwestern Women’s Options on Lomas Boulevard to continue killing babies.

Tara Shaver, spokeswoman for Abortion Free New Mexico, described the closure as “great news and proof that the abortion industry is not invincible.”
“New Mexico’s political leaders have gone all-in on abortion—using taxpayer dollars and government policy to prop up the industry. Yet despite those efforts, abortion facilities are consolidating and closing around us,” she said.
Bud Shaver, executive director of Abortion Free New Mexico, said: “Despite New Mexico leaders pouring taxpayer money into abortion and using government policy to prop up the industry, abortion facilities are still consolidating and closing. More Americans are identifying as pro-life, while the abortion industry faces mounting legal, financial and operational pressure nationwide. New Mexico’s leaders cannot prop up a failing industry forever. Taxpayer resources should support mothers, children and life-affirming alternatives—not abortion.”
Tara Shaver added that the group has prayed and worked for such closures for years.
“Every closure matters. But as long as abortions continue in our state, we will continue showing up, exposing what is happening, offering women real help and working toward an Abortion Free New Mexico where every pre-born child is valued and protected.”
New Mexico has expanded abortion access through state policies, including the use of Medicaid funds to force taxpayers to pay for abortions.
Abortion Free New Mexico continues monitoring remaining facilities and providing outreach to women.
