Planned Parenthood That Killed Woman Injured Another in Botched Abortion

On April 10, 2026, just a month after Operation Rescue reported on another medical emergency at this location, EMS responders were once again dispatched to the Planned Parenthood located at 825 South Shields Street in Fort Collins, Colorado. A 19-year-old woman returned to the clinic complaining of chest pain just one day after undergoing an abortion.

Sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors on the scene reported seeing an ambulance around 1:25 PM. Operation Rescue secured the EMS radio dispatch for this incident and OR investigators are still working to get the official 911 records from Fort Collins Police Department. However, it is very likely any records obtained will be overly redacted by Fort Collins PD, concealing important details about this post-abortion emergency that the public deserves to have access to, especially when seeking out safe healthcare facilities.

Chest Pain After Abortion

The main complaint for this incident — chest pain — following an abortion can signal serious issues. Some potential cardiovascular complications after an abortion can be:

  • Takotsubo cardiomyopathy: also known as “broken-heart syndrome,” it is stress-induced heart muscle weakening, often presenting with chest pain shortly after the procedure. It is interesting to note that this real medical condition proves abortions can also have psychological consequences that, in some cases, can last for years.
  • Spontaneous coronary artery dissection: a tear in a heart artery caused mainly by hormonal changes after abortion. This condition can cause chest pain and EKG changes mimicking a heart attack.
  • Other rare possibilities include medication-related effects such as misoprostol causing coronary vasospasm, an infection spreading systemically, post-abortion anxiety/panic attacks, or referred pain.

Any chest pain after an abortion warrants immediate evaluation, and in this woman’s case, the “Charlie Medical” code which was used by EMS is only applied to situations that may rapidly become life-threatening.

Pattern of Injuries at This Facility

This latest incident brings renewed scrutiny to a facility with a troubling history of injuring women. This is the same Planned Parenthood where 18-year-old Lexi Arguello died in February 2025 following a second-trimester abortion. In that tragic case, Lexi suffered a severe complication — likely an amniotic fluid embolism.

“Serious medical professionals and pro-life advocates agree that clinic staff delayed calling EMS in a timely manner, contributing to the fatal outcome for the young woman,” says Troy Newman, Operation Rescue President.

In recent months, Operation Rescue has documented multiple emergencies at this Fort Collins abortion mill, including other “Charlie Medical” calls and cases involving heavy bleeding, some even requiring extra blood brought to the scene.

For this recent emergency, EMS dispatch mentions that Planned Parenthood staff reported this woman was also experiencing ”moderate bleeding,” which the staff apparently insisted was “normal.” However, knowing that this same staff delayed emergency care for Lexi Arguello, and has since sent numerous women to the emergency room, almost all of them designated “Charlie Medical” by EMS, it seems more likely Planned Parenthood staff have no idea of what a “normal” amount of bleeding might be, nor how dangerous it is to the patients they continue to injure.

This April emergency only adds to the ongoing pattern of patient transports from the same address. Yet despite the frequent ambulances needed at this Fort Collins Planned Parenthood, it is often the case that Fort Collins public records requests (FOIA) for 911 records are delayed, overly-redacted, or refused. The law requires redaction of personally identifiable information such as patient names, IDs, and phone numbers, but medical details are subject to public review for the sake of public safety and the transparency and accountability of bad medical providers.

Colorado’s Extremely Flexible Abortion Laws

“This incident occurs under Colorado’s highly permissive abortion framework,” Newman comments. “The state has no gestational limits on abortion, does not require abortion facilities to undergo inspections for safety, and enshrined abortion in the state constitution through Amendment 79.”

Starting in 2026, abortion care also became eligible for Medicaid reimbursement, removing previous funding barriers and expanding abortion even further — all of which only gives more power to the abortion cartel and no protection for patients.

Operation Rescue has sounded this alarm time after time: the lack of basic safety and sanitary regulations for abortion facilities, combined with minimal accountability from the state or local agencies, create an environment where life-threatening complications can be downplayed or dismissed, while the abortion cartel is left untouched.

Newman adds, “It is an outrage that this Fort Collins Planned Parenthood continues to operate with no oversight and not one investigation despite the death of Lexi Arguello and multiple subsequent emergencies. Operation Rescue will continue to call for stricter safety regulations, complication reporting, and the necessary transparency that allows women to understand the very real risks of abortion. Our prayers are with the 19-year-old woman involved in this latest incident and with all women who enter these facilities seeking help, unwittingly facing dangerous consequences.”

As more details emerge — if they emerge at all — Operation Rescue investigators will continue to shed light on this latest “Charlie Medical” call from the same facility that stole Lexi’s life. These documented emergencies serve as a stark reminder of this simple fact: Abortion is not safe. No matter what its promoters claim, every abortion not only takes the life of a child but potentially jeopardizes the life of the mother as well. Women are at serious risk whenever they enter any abortion facility — especially in radicalized states like Colorado — where corners are clearly being cut and serious emergencies are met with delayed or inadequate responses from callous and incompetent abortion staff.
