National Right to Life, the nation’s oldest and largest pro-life organization, today proudly announced its endorsement of Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson for Governor of Kansas. The endorsement comes after Masterson earned the endorsement of President Donald Trump and Kansans for Life PAC, which is a state affiliate of National Right to Life. The Republican primary is August 4th.
“Ty Masterson has a strong and effective record of supporting both mothers and their unborn children,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “He has a 100% pro-life voting record and has worked hand-in-hand with our state affiliate, Kansans for Life, to override pro-abortion Governor Laura Kelly’s vetoes an impressive 15 times over the last several years. National Right to Life is proud to endorse his candidacy for governor.”
“I’m honored to be the only candidate endorsed by Kansans for Life and now National Right to Life,” said Ty Masterson. “Now is the time to redouble our efforts to protect life in Kansas and I look forward to advancing life-affirming measures for both women and babies as Governor.”

Masterson’s pro-life leadership stands in sharp contrast to the record of Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt, a pro-abortion Republican seeking to emerge from a crowded primary field that includes multiple candidates campaigning on a pro-life platform.
As a state senator, Schmidt voted with the abortion industry a staggering 53 times and has a more extreme abortion record than any of the Democrats seeking the Kansas Governor’s Office in 2026. A breakdown of her record is available at KFLPAC.org/NoVicki.
“Vicki Schmidt has embraced an extreme abortion agenda that is so shocking that she is among the most pro-abortion candidates seeking office in the nation this year,” Tobias said. “It is imperative that pro-lifers in Kansas unite behind Ty Masterson. The prospect of Vicki Schmidt becoming the Republican nominee has implications that could set the pro-life movement back on a national level. The stakes are too high to divide the pro-life vote, and the nation is watching.”
