Pro-Life Youth Change 75 People’s Minds on Abortion

At least 75 people totally changed their minds on abortion during Survivors Youth Pro-life Bootcamp this year.

Every summer the Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust hold a pro-life bootcamp for youth to train them in all aspects of pro-life ministry. This year dozens of youth from across the country and even one from Australia joined us in Southern California for our 10 day camp.

These young people are determined to be the generation that will abolish abortion and see an end to this violent holocaust. They are trained by amazing leaders like Pastor Walter Hoye, Dr Michael New, Carol Everett, Don Blythe and more. They were equipped with the tools and education they need in the training sessions to then go out to the streets with confidence.

After learning pro-life apologetics from Scott Klusedorf, youth descended upon downtown Santa Monica at night for their first big outreach of camp. They set up signs at four locations near the pier and engaged with people walking by. Witnessing these young people sharing the pro-life message, sharing the Gospel of Christ and praying with total strangers was an inspiration to the veteran pro-lifers leading them. Tim Clement, Survivors’ Outreach Director, shared:

“I am humbled by the opportunity to lead these amazing youth as they give up part of their summer to minister with us. Watching them soak up what they learn from these great leaders and then take their passion to the streets gives me hope for this generation.”

With the re-launch of Rock for Life as a ministry of Survivors, it was an obvious fit for campers to go to the front gates of the Vans Warped tour to show the truth and witness to concert goers. While this was one of the most hostile crowds the group encountered, there were still remarkable moments of hearts turning towards the gospel and the pro-life message.

The campers also went on outreaches to Venice and Laguna Beach as well as UCLA Medical center where fetal harvesting takes place. They were also trained in sidewalk counseling before going to four different abortion mills around LA. Campers took turns counseling and talking to mothers, offering them alternatives to abortion.

One of the highlights of the camp was exposing the pediatrician Dr. Salhab who owns a medical building that he is leasing to  Planned Parenthood.  The baby-killing giant has been constructing an abortion mega center in Fontana, CA, much to the dismay of family-oriented locals. It was a sight to behold: a mass of young people in red pro-life  shirts marching through the Inland Empire streets waving banners and chanting:

“Salhab, choose life today!

Cut the lease and walk away!”

Without a doubt, the protest caught the attention of Inland Empire locals as the Survivors exposed Dr. Salhab’s dark practices. Additionally, a freeway banner drop the campers did later in the day brought 1,800 visitors to the Survivors-created website STOPFONTANA.COM.

Over this ten-day pro-life boot camp, the kids logged over 800 conversations with people with 154 “partial mind-changes” and 75 total mind-changes on abortion. They also shared the gospel and prayed with many of these people. While these were just the results logged on-the-spot, the team is confident that many more seeds were planted.

This fall the Survivors will be hosting an internship to train some of these young people even further as they consider joining Survivors full-time pro-life missionaries to help bring an end to abortion and spread the Gospel of Christ to this generation.
