RECORD HAUL: ICE Arrests Hit All-Time High of 51,000 in July as Trump Admin Quietly Ramps Up Enforcement

ICE just posted its biggest month ever — and the agency barely made noise about it.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested roughly 51,000 people in July, the largest single-month total in Department of Homeland Security history, according to a new ABC News report. The surge included more than 30 arrests carried out at airports in a single month, as agents expanded operations nationwide with broader discretion to act.

The July numbers push total deportations for the current fiscal year to 356,389 as of June, part of what the administration says is a systematic dismantling of Biden-era leniency.

“DHS reversed the horrendous Biden-era policy that allowed aliens in our country illegally to jet around our country,” a DHS spokesperson said. “Under President Trump, DHS will no longer tolerate this.”

Not everyone on the right is satisfied. Mike Howell of the Trump Oversight Project argues the pace still isn’t nearly aggressive enough given the scale of the problem left behind by the previous administration.

“The point is the numbers remain wildly disproportionately low to the scale of illegals let in by Biden and the promise of mass deportation,” Howell said.

Immigration attorneys, meanwhile, note that some of those swept up in the July enforcement push had no criminal record and held valid work authorization or parole documentation — a tension that’s likely to fuel legal challenges even as the numbers climb.

Record month or not, ICE shows no signs of slowing down.
