The president of the Southern Poverty Law Center was unable to defend calling pro-life Americans racist.
He also couldn’t condemn the killing of black babies in abortions as bad when directly confronted with the statistic that nearly half of all unborn children aborted in the womb are black.
Rep. Brandon Gill, R-Texas, pressed Bryan Fair during a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday on the organization’s activities.
The exchange highlighted what pro-life advocates call a glaring inconsistency in the SPLC’s positions.
The SPLC said that “restricting and banning abortion is a tool the far-right uses to maintain white supremacy,” Gill noted in the hearing.
Gill asked Fair whether he thinks pro-lifers are white supremacists and he couldn’t directly respond or refute the bogus claim.
He then reminded the SPLC leader that nearly half of all babies killed in the womb are black.

Fair offered no direct response affirming that the disproportionate abortion of black babies is wrong, according to the video of the hearing posted by Gill.

The confrontation underscored a core pro-life contention: labeling efforts to protect unborn black children as “white supremacy” ignores the human cost borne by the very communities the SPLC claims to defend.
