Trump Says Iran Cease-Fire Is on “Massive Life Support” After Latest Iranian Proposal

The Iran cease-fire may be hanging by a thread.

President Donald Trump delivered a grim assessment Monday of the fragile truce between the United States and Iran, warning that the agreement is now “on massive life support” after Tehran reportedly submitted a new peace proposal loaded with inflammatory conditions and no meaningful nuclear concessions.

Speaking during a maternal health event in the Oval Office, Trump compared the cease-fire to a dying patient barely clinging to survival.

“It’s on life support,” Trump said.

Turning toward Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz, Trump added: “Dr. Oz, life support is not a good thing.”

The president then delivered an even darker analogy.

“I would say the ceasefire is on massive life support, where the doctor walks in and says, ‘Sir, your loved one has approximately a 1% chance of living,’” Trump said.

The remarks marked one of Trump’s bleakest public assessments yet of the ongoing negotiations with Tehran, which have faced repeated setbacks amid continued military tensions in the Persian Gulf and disputes over Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

According to Trump, the latest Iranian proposal failed to offer any substantive concessions related to its nuclear program while including several provisions viewed by U.S. officials as deliberately provocative.
