Trump Signs U.S.-Iran Memorandum of Understanding as Peace Deal Takes Effect

The United States and Iran have formally signed their memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict between the two countries and reopening the Strait of Hormuz, with the agreement now officially in effect, according to two U.S. officials cited by Axios.

One official told the outlet that President Trump personally signed the agreement as part of a remote execution process approved by both governments.

The signing occurred ahead of a planned ceremony in Switzerland on Friday, where negotiators from both countries are still expected to meet.
