President Donald Trump says the Strait of Hormuz is clear.
Now he’s warning Iran not to test it.
Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. Navy has removed or detonated all mines from the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz and declared a “Zero Tolerance” policy for any attempt to put new ones back.

“Iran has been notified that any ship or boat placing new mines will be immediately and systematically destroyed,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
No warning shots. No extended standoff.
That is the policy Trump laid out.
He said the U.S. Space Force is monitoring “every square inch” of the strait, along with Pickaxe Mountain and three other Iranian nuclear sites previously struck by the United States.
The warning comes at a particularly sensitive moment.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important energy chokepoints in the world, with roughly a fifth of global seaborne oil moving through the narrow waterway in normal conditions.
Iran has repeatedly used the strait as leverage during its conflict with the United States, including threats to close it and attacks on commercial shipping.
Trump now says the mine threat has been cleared.
The next move, he made clear, belongs to Tehran.
“There is a Zero Tolerance policy on mine placement in full force and effect,” Trump wrote.
Translation: the waterway is open.
