Homeland Security says it is investigating more than 1,600 suspected cases of illegal voting and reviewing another 300,000 names flagged through state voter rolls.
“We have 1,620 cases moving right now that are under investigation,” Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Fox News.
Mullin said the department has already made 151 arrests and is examining more than 300,000 additional suspected cases.

DHS is comparing names pulled from state voter rolls against federal immigration and citizenship records to determine who was legally eligible to cast a ballot.
“We’re scrubbing them,” Mullin said. “We’re comparing them to those that are in the country illegally, those that are legal permanent residents and those that are citizens.”
The investigation comes as the Justice Department ramps up prosecutions.
DOJ announced charges Friday against 16 people in seven states for alleged illegal voting, unlawful voter registration and related crimes.
The cases include noncitizens accused of voting in federal elections and falsely claiming U.S. citizenship to register.
Assistant Attorney General Colin McDonald told Fox News the administration has now charged 50 noncitizens with illegal voting.
Mullin said the DHS numbers vindicate President Trump’s warnings about illegal voting.
“The president was right when he said there was a tremendous amount of fraud in the election,” Mullin said.
He added: “Every single vote … that was at the hands of an illegal canceled out a citizen that was legally registered and able to vote.”
