Abdul El-Sayed has secured the support of the establishment Democrat he defeated in Michigan.
He has not secured her silence about Hasan Piker.
Rep. Haley Stevens endorsed her party’s Senate nominee Sunday while urging El-Sayed to sever his affiliation with the radical streamer as he attempts to unite Democrats for the general election.

“It certainly makes sense to get rid of this Hasan Piker affiliation,” Stevens said on Fox News’ “The Sunday Briefing.”
Stevens lost to El-Sayed in a bitter Democratic primary but said she remains committed to defeating Republican nominee Mike Rogers.
She argued that Democrats offer better policies on healthcare, democracy and Black-owned businesses. At the same time, she refused to abandon the concerns she raised during the primary about Piker and El-Sayed’s relationship with him.
Piker has become a major liability in the race after repeatedly campaigning with El-Sayed. The streamer’s history of inflammatory statements — like “America deserved 9/11” — has given Republicans an opening to portray the Democratic nominee as aligned with the party’s radical fringe.
Stevens was asked whether El-Sayed had done anything beyond winning the nomination to reassure the Jewish voters, Black voters and Reagan Democrats who supported her.
She did not identify a specific step El-Sayed had taken. Instead, Stevens pointed to her own performance with those constituencies and described herself as a Zionist Democrat determined to protect their place in the party.
“I came really close [to winning the primary] and I’m still a Democrat,” Stevens said. “I’m still out here talking about my views and values.”
“I want the people who share my views and values to feel safe and to feel heard in the Democratic Party.”
The warning comes as El-Sayed enters one of the most consequential Senate races of the midterm elections.
He and Rogers are competing to replace retiring Democratic Sen. Gary Peters, who backed Stevens in the primary. The result could help determine whether Republicans retain their narrow Senate majority.
A new Fox News poll shows Rogers leading El-Sayed by four points. The survey also indicates that El-Sayed is underperforming Kamala Harris’ 2024 support among Black voters, women, and suburban voters.
