FRANKLIN, KY — Following a long day at work in the middle of what had been a stressful week of responsibilities and anxiety, one local man decided to take a much-needed break from reality by turning on CNN.
Patrick Sullivan said he was searching for a way to escape from the grind of daily life and disconnect his mind from all the concerns of the world around him, eventually settling on watching CNN as the perfect way to immerse himself in something entirely different from the real world.
“It’s the perfect escape from real life,” Sullivan explained. “Sometimes you just don’t want to see any more real news or events, and you just want to unwind and detach yourself from reality. People have always enjoyed getting away from whatever is going on in this world and diving into a world of fantasy and make-believe. That’s what CNN is for.”
Sullivan said CNN has become his go-to method for shutting out the real world and taking a break from everything. “You’d be amazed at how disconnected you feel from real life when you watch it,” he said. “There isn’t even the slightest little thread of reality that finds its way into their programming. It’s great to separate yourself from life on planet Earth and instead place yourself in a world of total fantasy. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to take a break from reality.”
At publishing time, Sullivan said he was looking forward to settling in on the couch tonight to watch Anderson Cooper, which he said he does whenever he needs a laugh.
